Your squad must contain at least eleven players and include the following:
- 1 Goalkeeper
- 2 Full Backs
- 2 Centre Halves
- 2 Central Midfielders
- 2 Wide Midfielders
- 2 Strikers
In addition to this 'first eleven', your squad can contain up to six substitutes of any position you
prefer. However you can chose fewer substitutes (or indeed none at all) allowing you spend more money
on your first eleven.
The entire wage bill for your squad (including substitutes) cannot exceed €20,000 per week. Your squad
cannot contain more than two players from any club. Players will be deemed to belong to the club they
were with at the start of the competition. If they are transferred to another Eircom league premier
division club during the competition (even prior to the start of the season) they shall continue to be
considered members of their former clubs. However they will score points with respect to their
performances for their new clubs.
There will be two 'transfer windows' during the season. During these windows, a "Transfer Market" option
will become available in the members in the team management menu. Managers will be permitted to sell up
to three members of their squads. They can sign additional players provided the new squad continues to
have no fewer than seventeen players. After the first transfer window, the 'two player' rule will also be relaxed so that managers will be
permitted to have up to three players from the same club in their squads.
Initially, you need to select a squad. You can do so by clicking on the 'create team' link from the
menu (please note that you must be logged in to see this option).
You will see a list of players together with information on their clubs, position and weekly wage.
To add a player, click on the 'Add' button to the right of the player's name. To view your updated
squad, click on the 'My Squad' tab. Players can be deleted by clicking on the 'Drop' button. To
return to the player list, click the 'Player list' tab. Note that you will be prevented from adding
players to your squad where adding them would break any of the tournament rules e.g. you might
receive a message saying "Could not add player. Your squad can only contain two Cork City players".
Many players will have statistics available from the 2007 season. Simply click anywhere on the
player's row within the table and these stats, if available, will appear in the right hand column.
Your squad is automatically saved each time you make a change. When you have a squad that satisfies
all the rules, you will be able to make changes to your starting eleven (assuming you have selected
some substitutes).
Note that the 'create team' link will not appear after the competition closing date.
Clicking the 'Manage Team' link brings you to the team management area. Initially a default first eleven
will have been created for you, based on the assumption that you wish you to use your most expensive
players. The first eleven must be a four-four-two formation as specified above.
Your first eleven will be displayed on the left of the screen against the pitch backdrop. Your list of
available substitutes will appear in the 'Bench' area to the right. To check if substitutes are available
for any player, click on that player's name. The names of any available substitutes will flash. To swap
the player with a substitute click on the substitute's name. Each time you make a change, a new first
eleven is saved. Your first eleven can be amended as often as you like but please bear in mind the
following: the first eleven as it stands at the beginning of a particular week is the first eleven that
will be used for scoring purposes for that entire week. For example the first eleven at kick off time on
Friday evening will continue to be reckoned as your first eleven throughout that week. If you make
changes on the Saturday, then those changes will not take effect until the following Friday!
To view your squad for the current week, click on the 'Current First 11' option. This shows the make up
of your squad for the current week and cannot be changed.
Only performances in Eircom League premier division matches will be awarded points. Points are awarded
only to your first eleven players. Points will be awarded on the following basis:

- 3 pts (1 pt for substitute appearance)
Goals Scored:
- Goalkeeper: 10 pts

from such matches.
